The psychedelic new single from Canadian multi-instrumentalist Void Comp is an enthralling trip.

Don't be fooled into thinking that Void Comp is a minimalist - the first minute of his new single 'Come My Way' is deceptively sparse with its instrumentation, but boy, are you in for a surprise!

David Julé, the mastermind behind the pseudonym Void Comp, is a mad scientist. It's not clickbait, he really is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and vocalist. 'Come My Way' addresses issues that plagued him towards the end of 2020; being dumped and made redundant in such a short space of time is sure to send the best of us into an introspective spiral.

The lyrics come from a place of confusion and isolation. Without worrying too much about trying to fit in a specific genre, this marks the beginning of a new musical direction for me - one where I am free to express myself and follow my own intuition.

If you could describe the synthesizer sounds and patterns in this track no other way, 'intuitive' would suit just fine. The melodies shift and tones transform at Julé's will - where most of us would be at the mercy of a Roland Juno, Void Comp makes modular synthesis his bitch.

You'll have to hear it to believe it. Really. I have a feeling this track will go down like Marmite - divisiveness is power - but if you love 'Come My Way', you'll love Void Comp's new Last Days EP due out September 3rd 2021.
