Toronto singer-songwriter Liz Dix releases new indie-pop single 'Cold Space'.

Liz Dix, born and raised in Toronto, Canada, is no newcomer to the pubs and venues of her local live scene. She has, however, just released her very first single 'Cold Space' for the world to hear. It's an easygoing indie-pop track that features jangly guitars, and even a horns section! Plus, of course, Liz's emotive lyrics and dulcet vocal tones.

The Canadian songwriter and multi-instrumentalist drew upon the music of Phoebe Bridgers, Maggie Rogers, and Courtney Barnett whilst defining her own sound - one that actually reminds me of KT Tunstall's soulful 'Eye To The Telescope' days.

“The song explores the moments when you realize you might be slipping away from someone you love, grasping at straws to make something work that has already started to fade away."

Where many would fail to confront and explain their feelings with such poetic detail, Liz Dix triumphs; the slow and painful end to a relationship between two people who are drifting apart can't be easy to encapsulate in a song of just three minutes, yet 'Cold Space' sees Liz handle this with ease.

Her collaboration with Ontario-based producer Mike Tompa has resulted in a sophisticated and full-bodied sound that brings out the very best of Liz's expert songwriting skills. If you're in the market to feel something, I very much recommend 'Cold Space' as a good starting spot!
