NEW MUSIC: HOLMES - IF IT WAS UP TO ME
Guildford-based indie-rock artist HOLMES releases catchy debut single 'If It Was Up To Me'.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That's HOLMES' approach to indie-rock, anyway; catchy melodies inspired by the best of 2000s pop meet guitar-heavy instrumentation fresh from the live room in his debut single 'If It Was Up To Me'.
Inspired by Sam Fender, Circa Waves, and Catfish and the Bottlemen, HOLMES is a fan of that classic guitar band sound, carrying it into a new era and breathing new life into its bones with his candid lyricism and storytelling.
"The record discusses an unexpected romance and explores a layered account of thoughts and feelings of two lovers in denial. It displays the emotions of someone desperately looking for love whilst ignoring telltale signs of a blossoming relationship."
This is a stellar start for HOLMES' fledgling career, looking sure to win him fans across the UK and beyond. Of the creative process, the artist explains, "I felt that this song really showed who I am and what I aim to bring. I want to create music that people can lose themselves in and this is only the start."
